CCH Summer Junior Volunteer Program Applications Now Available

GILLETTE, WY — Applications for Campbell County Health’s 2018 Junior Volunteer Program are now available. Interested youth ages 13-18 years old can get an application at the Information Desk in the main lobby of Campbell County Memorial Hospital or online at www.cchwyo.org/volunteer under Junior. The application deadline is Friday, May 4.

Applications may be dropped off at PBX in the main lobby of CCMH or turned in at Chris Buxton’s office on the ground floor of the hospital in Community Relations, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm.

There are a limited number of spaces in the Junior Volunteer Program. Acceptance into the program is first come, first served, so turning in the application promptly is encouraged. Those accepted to the program will be called to schedule an interview/meet and greet with Chris. Orientation will be held May 31, and more details will be provided to those accepted into the program.

The Junior Volunteer Program offers youth the invaluable opportunity to learn about multiple career paths and experience what it is like to work in a professional environment. Volunteers are expected to spend at least three hours a week with the organization. Junior volunteers perform duties such as greeting patients and families, assisting nursing and support staff, working with children and The Legacy residents, and other healthcare related services. They also help in the CCMH Gift Shoppe or The Legacy Country Store and at the Information Desk as well as sell popcorn to raise money for the Volunteer Services Scholarship Program, which provides two $1,000 scholarships each year to high school students.

Interested youth must be 13 by May 1, 2018 and be able to volunteer at least three hours each week—excluding vacations—and have transportation to and from the hospital. Volunteer shirts/uniforms will be provided.

The Junior Volunteer Program concludes August 3. For more information call the Volunteer Services office at 307-688-1536.
