CCH Rehabilitation Services Presents: Faces of Traumatic Brain Injury

GILLETTE, WY – Campbell County Health (CCH) Rehabilitation Services is pleased to announce a Faces of Traumatic Brain Injury presentation by survivor and award winning author Amy Zellmer on Monday, September 17, 2018, at 6 pm at the Gillette College Health Science Education Center, 3801 College Drive in Gillette, Wyoming. The presentation is free and recommended for anyone with a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or anyone caring for or supporting someone with a traumatic brain injury.

Amy Zellmer will share with you her journey through the murky waters of TBI. She will enlighten you with humor and grace on the seriousness of brain injury and concussion, and the life lessons that come with it. Join Amy as she shares her story of recovery, and provides you with ways to help support a loved one dealing with this invisible injury. She will give insight into a life that even doctors don’t fully understand.

In February of 2014, Amy slipped on a patch of ice, landing full-force on the back of her skull. She believes that the healing process begins with the telling of your story, releasing everything that you’ve been bottling up inside. Her goal is to share her story to help bring awareness to this invisible injury that is misunderstood.

Amy Zellmer is an award-winning author, keynote speaker, and traumatic brain injury survivor. She is a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post and Thrive Global, and she also produces a podcast series for survivors and caregivers. In November of 2015, she released her first book, Life With a Traumatic Brain Injury: Finding the Road Back to Normal, which received a silver medal at the Midwest Book Awards.
