CCH seeks applications for Patient and Family Advisory Council

GILLETTE, WY— Campbell County Health (CCH) Patient Experience Department is accepting applications for the Patient & Family Advisory Council (PFAC). The PFAC volunteers are an avenue for CCH to receive and respond to input from community members with a goal to impact and improve patient experience.

PFAC usually meets on the third Friday of each month. Since its inception in 2014, PFAC members have participated in many projects including:

  • Participation in the new Campbell County Memorial Hospital inpatient room design
  • Participation on the CCH Ethics Committee
  • Customer Service “Secret Shopping”
  • Reviewed patient teaching information to assist with user-friendliness
  • Participated in disaster drills
  • Assisted in identifying ways to reduce patient falls in the hospital
  • Assisted in new hire interview process

“I wanted to be part of group that possesses intent to have positive impact,” says Jay Mahylis, retired Campbell County School District counselor and coach, as well as a long-time Campbell County citizen. Jay has served on PFAC for two years, and says that he has been able to, “…actively learn and use PFAC as the vehicle to offer input and constructive feedback in regards to providing quality healthcare in Campbell County, Wyoming.”

Applicants need to be available for the monthly meetings and for additional commitments with specific projects. If you are interested in being a part of shaping healthcare in your community, please contact Heather Edwards, Patient Experience Coordinator at 307-688-1532, or download a volunteer application at www.cchwyo.org/volunteer.

Applications are requested by March 1, 2019.
