Thanks for working here this week: Kelsey Baker, Childcare Tech

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Say hello to Kelsey Baker, a Childcare Tech at the Early Childhood Center in Gillette, Wyoming. For those who don't know, the Early Childhood Center provides childcare for the children of CCH employees when they are at work—currently, the Center is only open to CCH employees. Kelsey has worked at CCH for nearly 5 years, but has worked in or been around a childcare setting since she was 11 years old!

Kelsey was inspired to work in healthcare by a very close family friend, Desirae Harmon, who she also calls her health care hero.

“Des has been an inspiration to my childcare career. Growing up I always admired how well she handled the children in her care. She was always very patient and did her best to make each child feel loved and cared for,” she says. “Des always had new adventures and cared about the little victories just as much as the big ones. I strive to be the same way with the children at the daycare. They each need to know that they matter, they are safe, and they are loved.”

When Kelsey isn’t at work, she enjoys taking her dogs for drives and runs, spending time with family and friends playing games and going to events, and cooking.

We asked Kelsey what she likes most about working for CCH and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“I love the lasting relationships that I have created with the parents and children. The kids definitely keep you on your toes. They make each day an adventure and always put a smile on my face with at least one good belly laugh. They consonantly remind me how great this world can be. They are our future and I love that I get the opportunity to help form their little minds.

To me, excellence every day means I need to give my very best every day. I need to form the best possible relationships with the children and their parents. I need to make sure that I am providing the best experience for our kids so that they enjoy coming here and they want to comeback. It means I need to do my best to communicate with parents and build that trust with them so they also have the best experience.”

Kelsey, thank you for taking such great care of your colleagues children. We are proud to have you on our team.
