Thanks for working here this week: Derek Friedlan, BS, CCM, Behavioral Health Services

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Allow us to introduce Derek Friedlan, BS, CCM, who is the Coordination of Care Manager for Behavioral Health Services at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming. Derek has earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Human Resources Management, and is a Certified Case Manager (CCM). He’s worked for CCH for seven years.

Derek pursued a career in health care because he wanted to help people be the best they can be “by providing quality care and service and providing them with positivity and hope.”

Derek calls Mary Barks his health care hero. “She has advocated for many patients and families throughout her career. She consistently has shown her high-level emotional intelligence. She cares about each and every patient and family member,” he says.

When Derek isn’t at work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and 18-month-old son. “We enjoy biking, hiking, swimming, traveling and spending time with family,” he says.

We asked Derek what he likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to him. Check out his response:

“I’ve run into many patients and families who I’ve helped over the last seven years who have personally thanked me for the care and service I provided to them. That makes it all worth it.

I enjoy the interaction with patients, families and staff. I love that we are able to help people in need. I have a special passion for working in mental health as they come to us feeling hopeless and we are able to provide them with dignity, respect and regained hope that they will be able to return to their daily lives with assistance in place.

Excellence Every Day means being a person of integrity who has the heart to pause and help anyone in need, even during an inconvenient or challenging time.”

Thanks Derek for all that you do for our community. We are proud to have you on our team.
