FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A Holiday Message from Campbell County Health CEO Matt Shahan

GILLETTE, Wyo. – Dec. 22, 2022 – The holiday season is upon us, and the new year is on the horizon. 2022 has brought its fair share of challenges. Across the country, COVID-19 still circulates, supply chain issues persist, and the economy has suffered. Here at CCH, concerns about financial sustainability, transparency, and the path forward have permeated the community. It is all too easy to miss out on the joy of the holiday season as we get caught up in the struggles of our time, in the day-to-day of our work, and fears for the future. Now is the time to slow down, appreciate the little things, be fully present with loved ones, and spread grace and joy throughout our community.

I am confident about the future of Campbell County Health this holiday season. I am confident that every one of our staff will embody Excellence Every Day. I am confident that our leadership team will steward CCH toward sustainability and, ultimately, toward greatness. I am confident in our community that we can forge a path to a healthier and stronger northeastern Wyoming. As the end of the year approaches, I hope you are also confident and hopeful about our future.

I am incredibly thankful to our providers, nurses, and all employees of Campbell County Health for their efforts, commitment, and contributions to this organization, one another, and, most importantly, the patients they serve daily. I joined CCH part-way through the year and at a time of considerable unease and uncertainty. Despite this unease and uncertainty, I was welcomed with open arms, grace, patience, and hope for the future. Success for an organization like ours takes dedication, skill, and compassion to cultivate. While the community may not always see the tireless behind-the-scenes work at CCH, I assure you that we are cultivating that success.

CCH is building momentum, and our efforts will only multiply as we enter 2023. I want to thank our community – your patience and understanding have not gone unnoticed. I hear your calls for better billing, your calls for transparency, and your calls for excellent care. What I hear are calls for CCH to be the very best. Know that we hear you and that we are acting. Our resolve is to fulfill our vision of becoming the first choice for healthcare and wellness in Wyoming.

As with any journey, we will have our fair share of struggles and adversity, but it is a new day at CCH. And ultimately, our story will be one of triumph, not because of any one person but because of the collective resolve of our employees, our leaders, our patients, our partners, our community, and you.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from my family to yours. Let's take this time to slow down a little, hope for the future, find joy even in the insignificant things of life, and recharge. Next year will bring great things to our community, our hospital, and to every one of you – together, we will make sure of it.

Warm Regards,

Matt Shahan
