Welcome Jim Morda

The new Cardiopulmonary Services manager, Jim Morda spent almost 20 years in management at Coca Cola before coming to healthcare. His first wife’s terminal illness changed Jim’s his life and career path and sparked his interest in healthcare, and respiratory therapy in particular. He was the second oldest student in the respiratory therapy program at Kaplan College in Modesto, Calif. when he graduated in 2008.

Jim’s first position as an RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) was at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo., and he also worked at The Memorial Hospital at Craig, Colo.

Jim experienced the clinical side of respiratory therapy in those two communities, but his desire to mentor and manage people soon surfaced. He headed to Las Vega, NM, where he became the CPS Director for Alta Vista Community Hospital.

Another interesting turn of events led him to Gillette and Campbell County Health. Jim’s wife Renee is originally from Buffalo, and it had been her wish to return to Wyoming to be closer to her parents. It was Renee who found the job posting here and encouraged Jim to apply.

Jim sees his new position as a great opportunity to grow the services that CPS can provide to inpatients and outpatients. His philosophy is to always treat patients as if they were members of your family and to encourage trust and teamwork amongst his staff.

Jim is looking forward to learning more about Wyoming and experiencing the natural beauty our state has to offer. He’s already talking about taking up fly fishing.

Welcome to Campbell County Health, Jim.
