Learn how to prevent Type 2 diabetes with Campbell County Health

  • Posted On:

GILLETTE, WY – Campbell County Health is offering a year-long program to help prevent Type 2 diabetes through the Campbell County Medical Group Diabetes Education Program called Choose You and Prevent Type 2 Diabetes.

Have you ever been told by a healthcare professional that you:

  • Have prediabetes?
  • Have borderline diabetes?
  • Have high blood sugar or glucose?
  • Had gestational diabetes?
  • Are at risk for developing diabetes?

This program, developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, focuses on nutrition, physical activity and helping participants make behavioral changes to prevent type 2 diabetes. The group size is small, so individuals will get personal attention during the program.

The program begins Tuesday, January 22, 2019 and costs $100 per person. The group meets for 16 weekly sessions and six monthly follow-up sessions with a trained Lifestyle Coach. Diabetes Education is hosting two educational sessions to learn about the program on Tuesday, January 8 and Wednesday, January 16 from 7-7:30 pm at the Ground Floor Conference Room at Campbell County Memorial Hospital, 501 S. Burma Avenue, in Gillette, Wyoming. This information session is free!
