Thanks for working here this week: Julia Regan, PBT, ACSP, CCMH Laboratory

Campbell County Health is proud of its employees, and we want the CCH family and the Campbell County community to know about the good work that they do for this organization.

Say hello to Julia Regan, PBT, ACSP, the Phlebotomy Supervisor at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital Laboratory in Gillette, Wyoming. Julia has been with CCH for 19 years, and has been in health care for 35 years! The Laboratory provides testing to aid physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, and serves as a reference lab for many local physician offices and veterinary clinics. The Lab currently performs more than 240 different tests and collects more than 450 other lab tests to be sent to reference labs.

Julia was drawn to a career in health care as a child. “I spent several months in the hospital when I was a child, and I still remember the caregivers who took the time to comfort me when I was afraid,” she says. She also says that she works with many health heroes at CCH daily.

When she’s not at work, Julia enjoys spending time with her family boating and hiking. “I love to have my toes in the sand,” she says.

We asked Julia what she likes most about working for CCH, and what excellence every day means to her. Check out her response:

“The moments I enjoy most at work are when you are the Phlebotomist who has a successful venipuncture on a very difficult patient. Or showing and teaching a child that having their blood drawn does not need to be a scary process. I also enjoy solving problems and making things better where I can—there are days I’m more of a detective than a phlebotomist.

Working in the Lab is like working with family. We’re here for each other through the good and stressful times, lending a hand and looking for the fun where we can. It’s rewarding to be a part of solving the diagnosis puzzle for the patient.

Excellence every day for me means being there in the moment, giving your best to provide excellent care and team work with a smile.”

Thank you, Julia for doing what is best for our patients in the Lab. We appreciate you.
