Will my price estimate match my final bill?

No. This is a good faith estimate only. The amount of your final bill will likely be different. It can depend on several things, including:

  • More tests may be needed.
  • Non-hospital related fees, such as those for the surgeon, anesthesiologist or radiologist.
  • Possible complications.

Will I need my health insurance information to get the estimate?

Yes. Please have your health insurance plan name and policy number ready when you fill out our online cost estimator tool. This helps us give you the most accurate estimate. That way, you can make the best medical cost comparison.

If you are filling out the form for someone else, please have the policy holder’s information on hand.

How is my price estimate determined?

We use data to see what other patients have paid for the same procedure at the same facility. Based on this, we take your personal insurance information (coinsurance amount and deductible amount) into account. Then we calculate your estimated hospital out-of-pocket expenses.

What is a procedure code?

A procedure code, or Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code, is a five-digit number that identifies medical, surgical and diagnostic procedures. We don’t need a procedure code for a cost estimate, but it can help us provide the closest estimate. Your doctor can give you the procedure code.
