Ask me about my stache

Ask me about my stache

On average, men die at a significantly younger age than women. The average life expectancy for American men is almost five years less than women (presently 76 compared to 81), however there is no clear-cut biological reason for this.

That's where Movember comes into play.

Movember aims to change the face of men’s health and reverse this way of thinking by putting a fun twist on serious issues. Using the moustache as a catalyst, Movember aims to give men the opportunity and confidence to learn and talk about their health more openly and take action.

This November, Movember will be responsible for moustaches sprouting on men’s faces across Campbell County to raise awareness for men’s health, and a few CCMH departments are participating. I, too, am participating. We'll be posting pictures on our Facebook page with captions highlighting an important men’s health topic as well as encouraging men to live a healthier lifestyle by making healthier choices, which include scheduling annual exams, becoming more physically active, eating healthier, quitting smoking and limiting the amount of alcohol they consume.

So, if you see me making my rounds at CCMH this month, be sure to ask me about my 'stache!

We also encourage our followers to post their own pictures and topics if they are up for it.
