Kindness is Contagious!

One simple act of kindness can ripple into millions.

On February 6, due to the efforts of Kindness Wyoming, Gov. Matt Mead signed a proclamation making the official Wyoming Random Acts of Kindness Week February 12-18, and the Campbell County Health Standards Team has decided to challenge (and encourage) our employees and our community to follow suit! Everyone is encouraged to submit photos of their random acts of kindness on the Campbell County Health Facebook page (www.facebook.com/cchwyo) so we can share them with you all!

So, what are random acts of kindness all about? According to the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, Random Acts of Kindness Week is an opportunity to unite through kindness. Formally recognized in 1995, this seven-day celebration demonstrates that kindness is contagious. It all starts with one act – one smile, one coffee for a stranger, one favor for a friend. It’s an opportunity for participants to leave the world better than they found it and inspire others to do the same.

So, what could you do?

  1. Let someone go in front of you in line.
  2. Buy coffee for the person behind you (maybe you'll start a pay-it-forward chain).
  3. Make a donation to your favorite charity.

You can check out some more ideas on how to spread kindness here.

What will you do for Random Acts of Kindness Week, February 12 - 18?

If you’re on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or any other popular social media platforms, consider using the following hashtags while you’re out and about spreading kindness:

  • #RAKWeek2017
  • #KindnessWyoming

Kindness Wyoming was created by eight students in the Leadership Wyoming program. Be sure to follow them on Facebook and read more about their efforts at www.kindnesswyoming.org.
