CCH July 2019 Department Discovery: CCMG Nephrology and Complex Medicine Clinic

The Campbell County Health July 2019 Department Discovery features the Campbell County Medical Group (CCMG) Nephrology and Complex Medicine Clinic in Gillette, Wyoming.

In the simplest terms, the Nephrology and Complex Medicine Clinic provides care for a broad range of adult patients with a variety of conditions such as high blood pressure (hypertension), diabetes, kidney stones, thyroid issues, as well as more complicated and complex diseases. The clinic also sees adult patients for routine health screenings. You can find the clinic on the Third Floor of Campbell County Memorial Hospital, near the Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, and the Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine clinics.

With their nursing staff, Dr. Robert Neuwirth, board certified internal medicine doctor and kidney specialist, and nurse practitioners Amy Hawk and Anne Jones provide patients with a comprehensive approach to primary care called the medical home model, which means they collaborate as a team to help patients make informed decisions about their health. Dr. Neuwirth is also the Medical Director for the CCH Dialysis Center, which provides dialysis treatments, testing services, support and education six days per week for patients with a wide range of renal (kidney) related conditions. The Clinic employs a total of 11 staff, including four who are shared with the other clinics on the floor.

“This team provides accessible, caring, and exceptional healthcare,” says Clinic Manager Lonnie Schell. “We are like a family—not only with our co-workers, but also with our patients.”

Staff who work in the clinic say the Clinic is a great team, and wouldn’t be able to see as many patients as they do without one another.

Since initially expanding the department in October of 2017, the Clinic has been fortunate to provide care to a growing number of patients in the Campbell County, Wyoming community. This means the clinic is continuing to expand—eventually bringing on more nursing staff and providers in the coming months. The providers are also very interested in bringing in mental health and social services to the Clinic.

“There is a significant lack in both of these entities, not only in Campbell County, but throughout the state of Wyoming,” says Anne Jones, APRN. “We are very interested and invested in finding a way to incorporate these services within our practice to provide better comprehensive care for our patients and community.”

A big round of applause to the Nephrology and Complex Medicine Clinic! Thank you for all that you do to keep our patients healthy.
