On May 10, 2021, Campbell County Health awarded a DAISY Award to Alex Thomas, RN, who works in the Campbell County Memorial Hospital (CCMH) Heptner Cancer Center.
The Daisy Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care given by nurses every day. Alex has worked as an RN for Campbell County Health since May 2018.
Alex was nominated for the DAISY Award by a patient in Spring 2021; her nomination is below:
From Sharyl: “Alex was my first nurse that took care of me on my first visit, along with other infusions. She was very pleasant, helpful, there for my every need. She made me feel very comfortable. She was so sweet and an amazing, caring nurse. I always enjoyed my visits with her. She always had other patients at the same time as me but you would never know it as I ALWAYS felt like I was the only patient that she had. She explained everything and always made sure I had everything I needed. I was never scared or felt uncomfortable. She made my visits something to look forward to.”
"Alex is a compassionate and caring nurse that always puts her patients minds at ease. She has a gentle heart and spirit that shines through her personality and her patients all see and feel it. She is a team player and always goes above and beyond. We are so lucky to have her on our team!" says Legend Leigh Johnson, MS, RTT, CMD, the Director of the Heptner Cancer Center.
Congratulations, Alex, on your DAISY Award. We’re proud to have you on our team.
