The Journey Program

The Journey Program is a professional development program for high school students graduating in Spring of 2023 who are interested in a career in healthcare. There are three “tracks” to choose from; Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist, and Medical Laboratory Technician.

How It Works

The Journey Program is a multi-year program that pairs education and job training. It begins with an application to the program, CCH department manager reviews applications and conducts interviews with candidates. Students selected will be enrolled in professional development programs at CCH, and their college classes and materials will be paid for by CCH.

If you’ve always been interested in healthcare, read more about the Journey Program tracks, and start your journey today!

*Participants are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 with proof of vaccination or present religious exception.

The RN Track

The “RN Track” is for those interested in becoming a Registered Nurse. Admitted students will receive one-on-one mentorship provided by a Professional Development RN and a career development plan, all while gaining tangible experience as a CCH employee along the way! During the program, you will be guided on the journey from Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and ultimately to Registered Nurse (RN). By the end of the program, you will be admitted into the CCH RN Residency Program!

What does an RN do?

RNs assess and identify patients' needs, then implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment. They can work in any specialty and in various healthcare settings, including home healthcare. They provide patient care, education, and assist other healthcare professionals. Registered Nurses are graduates from a college nursing program or from a school of nursing and have passed a national licensing exam.
