This introductory course provides students with a general overview of phlebotomy and the basic knowledge and hands-on skills used in laboratory and medical settings. Students will learn about blood collection procedures, patient interaction, specimen handling and the role phlebotomists play in supporting patient care.
This course is designed as a stepping stone for those interested in pursuing work or additional training in phlebotomy. It includes classroom instruction and supervised hands-on experience.
There is no state certification in Wyoming for Phlebotomy. Employers can provide information on national certification.
