Campbell County Medical Group Announces its New Patient Access Center

GILLETTE, Wyo. – Jan. 26, 2023 – As part of Campbell County Health’s (CCH) continuous effort to improve our patients’ experience, Campbell County Medical Group (CCMG) is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Patient Access Center (PAC) here at Campbell County Memorial Hospital. The PAC is staffed by CCH employees and is located on the 4th floor of the main CCH building. With the PAC, patients and community members can call one number to manage scheduling, registration, insurance verification, appointment reminders, and co-payment collection services.

The PAC will be fully operational on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

The PAC allows patients and the community to reach the CCMG clinics with a single, easy to remember number, (307) 688-6000.

Patients will enjoy:

  • Reduced call wait times,

  • Fewer voicemail prompts

  • Reduced wait times to check-in/check-out at our clinics

  • An overall streamlined patient experience.

While the PAC will initially focus on services provided by CCMG clinics (specifically, Main, 3rd Floor, & Pulmonology Clinics), the services will expand to include other ambulatory-based clinical services over time.

What’s Next?

CCMG anticipates many benefits through technology and centralization of “front-end” registration, insurance verification, and scheduling functions.

  • Callers will speak live with a Gillette-based member of the CCH-employed PAC staff, most of whom were previously CCMG clinic employees.

  • Callers will avoid complicated phone trees, and an after-hours answering service will handle after-hours calls. We anticipate a reduction, if not elimination, of the need to leave a voicemail.

  • Patient experience in the clinic will significantly enhance as registration staff will be focused only on patient check-in/check-out, without the burden of answering phone calls.

  • Patients will have communication with PAC staff before their visit to establish expectations of patient financial responsibilities and amounts due at registration based on their insurance plan.

  • CCMG will be able to collect and analyze caller data to continue improving PAC performance, and meeting caller needs.

CCH is dedicated to becoming Wyoming’s first choice for healthcare and wellness. CCMG’s PAC is a critical step in modernizing the patient experience and fulfilling our mission and vision for our community.
