About Alexa
Alexa Van Doren, CF-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist at Campbell County Health (CCH) Rehabilitation Services. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Moravian University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Inspired by growing up in a family dedicated to healthcare, Alexa has always been passionate about helping others improve their quality of life. She chose speech-language pathology because it allows her to help patients communicate, connect with others, and participate in meaningful everyday activities.
Alexa works with patients experiencing a variety of communication, cognitive, and swallowing challenges. Her areas of focus include head and neck cancer rehabilitation, dysphagia (swallowing difficulties), feeding therapy, cognition, aphasia (language difficulties), and dysarthria (motor speech difficulties).
Alexa believes in providing compassionate, patient-centered care where every individual feels heard, respected, and supported. She takes time to understand each patient's concerns, explain their treatment, and develop goals that are meaningful to their daily lives. Through patience, open communication, and a little humor, she strives to create a comfortable environment where patients feel confident in their progress.
One of Alexa's favorite parts of her work is celebrating her patients' achievements, both big and small. She believes every success is an important step toward improving their independence and quality of life.
Alexa was drawn to Gillette for its welcoming community, friendly people, and Wyoming's beautiful scenery. She appreciates the opportunity to serve a variety of patient populations across CCH facilities while building meaningful relationships within the community.
Outside of work, Alexa enjoys backpacking, hiking, baking, reading, and weightlifting.
