Angie Laakso , MOTR/L

About Angie

Angie Laakso, MOTR/L, is an occupational therapist at Campbell County Health (CCH) Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Services, where she works on an as-needed (PRN) basis. She earned her Master of Occupational Therapy degree through the University of North Dakota's program in Casper, Wyoming.

Angie's passion for occupational therapy began with her aunt, who lived with a spinal cord injury. Watching her aunt maintain her independence while balancing her roles as a wife, mother, and working professional inspired Angie to pursue a career helping others overcome challenges and live fulfilling lives.

Angie appreciates occupational therapy's whole-person approach to care, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit. She enjoys hearing each patient's story, understanding what matters most to them, and helping them regain the skills and independence needed for everyday life.

Angie's approach to patient care is deeply rooted in empathy, compassion, and personal experience. In 2013, she survived a serious car accident that required four months of hospitalization. Experiencing healthcare from the patient's perspective gave her a unique understanding of the physical and emotional challenges that can accompany recovery. She uses that experience to connect with patients, provide encouragement, and offer compassionate support during some of their most difficult moments.

Angie's connection to CCH began in 2007 when she completed her occupational therapy fieldwork with the organization. She chose to stay because of the supportive environment and strong relationships among employees, whom she considers family.

Born and raised in Gillette, Angie appreciates the community's welcoming atmosphere and the many opportunities it offers families and people of all ages. She values being able to provide care in the community she has always called home.

Outside of work, Angie enjoys exercising, walking her dogs, cooking, knitting, and cheering on her children at their sporting events.
