Brian Burch, PA-C

Brian Burch, PA, joins Campbell County Health with decades of experience in occupational medicine, emergency medicine, workplace safety, and industrial health. His career has taken him from military service and emergency departments to industrial worksites, refineries, pipeline projects, and occupational health clinics across the country.

Originally from Plano, Texas, Brian began his healthcare career while serving eight years in the United States Navy. He trained as a hospital corpsman and X-ray technologist, gaining early experience in both clinical care and occupational medicine. During his military service, he worked with programs involving radiation exposure monitoring, asbestos and silica surveillance, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, and employee fitness evaluations. He was also activated during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, serving in the Persian Gulf with the Marines and aboard the USNS Mercy hospital ship.

After his military service, Brian returned to school and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University. He also completed extensive coursework in technical writing because of his interest in making complex scientific and medical information easier to understand.

Brian later attended the physician assistant program at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where his clinical training included experience at Parkland Hospital. After graduation, he worked in emergency departments throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area while also practicing occupational medicine. That combination became a central part of his career and allowed him to build experience treating injuries, performing procedures, conducting workplace examinations, and helping employers develop safer work environments.

Over the years, Brian has worked in a variety of industrial settings, including offshore operations, petroleum facilities, refineries, pipelines, and other large-scale industrial projects. His experience includes Department of Transportation examinations, physical fitness testing, hearing conservation, respiratory surveillance, radiation safety, injury care, emergency and field medicine, and workplace wellness.

After spending time in North Dakota earlier in his career, Brian knew he wanted to return to this part of the country. He appreciates the open spaces, wildlife, changing seasons, and strong sense of community he has found in Wyoming. Brian was also drawn to the opportunity to work in a community where energy, mining, construction, and other industries play such an important role. He enjoys combining clinical medicine with prevention and workplace safety to help employees stay healthy while supporting employers in building strong safety cultures.

For Brian, occupational medicine is ultimately about protecting the people behind the work. His philosophy is simple: regardless of how regulations and guidelines change, the goal remains helping people finish their careers healthy enough to enjoy the lives they have worked to build.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time outdoors, hunting, playing guitar, and caring for his animals with his wife.
