CCH Celebrates National Volunteer Week

8,141 Hour Donated Over the Past Twelve Months

GILLETTE, Wyo. – April 17, 2023 – Eleven months, 48 weeks, 339 days, or 8,141 hours - that is the amount of time Campbell County Health volunteers collectively donated over the past year. The week of April 16th is National Volunteer Week, and CCH wishes to thank all those who have dedicated their time and energy to CCH and all the patients we serve.

“Nearly an entire year’s worth of time, dedication and compassion were committed to CCH by our volunteers over the past twelve months,” said CCH Volunteer Services Coordinator Chris Buxton. “I am incredibly thankful for the enthusiasm and support our volunteers bring to CCH. They define providing Excellence Every Day.”

Those interested in volunteering at CCH are encouraged to get involved by visiting our website: https://www.cchwyo.org/about-us/ways-to-give/volunteers/

Volunteers shared with CCH why they chose to serve, and the answers varied from spending time with others, meeting new people, helping those in need, and simply giving back to the community. Volunteering allows people to make new connections, help others, build strong communities, and find joy in the most fundamental and impactful part of life - helping others. The ethos of Wyomingites and the Gillette spirit is one of service and dedication to others.

“Volunteering is fun,” said a CCH volunteer. “It is a way to meet new people. It makes me feel good because, in a small way, I am helping others.”

Another volunteer shared that they enjoy the opportunity to give back in honor of the care that is delivered each day at CCH.

“My mother-in-law was a resident at Pioneer Manor and then at the Legacy when it opened. It’s nice to give a little back in honor of how she was cared for.”

Many other CCH volunteers expressed similar thoughts of fulfillment, enjoyment, and purpose in what they contribute here at CCH. Always humble, our volunteers shared that their work is simply a small way in which they wish to give back and contribute. CCH’s volunteers do much more than help in a small way; they are a fundamental part of this organization and the community, and their work is nothing short of profound. Join us in thanking all those who donate their time to selflessly care for others and make our community a better place.
