FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CCH Summer 2023 Junior Volunteer Program Applications Now Available

GILLETTE, Wyo. – April 25, 2023 – Applications for Campbell County Health’s (CCH) 2023 Junior Volunteer Program are now available. Interested youth between the ages of 13-18 years old can get an application at the Information Desk in the main lobby of Campbell County Memorial Hospital (CCMH), 501 S. Burma Avenue in Gillette, Wyoming, or at https://www.cchwyo.org/about-us/ways-to-give/volunteers/ — look under the Junior tab. The application is due Friday, May 5.

Applications may be dropped off at PBX in the main lobby of CCMH, or turned in to CCH Volunteer Services Coordinator Chris Buxton, located on the ground floor of the hospital in Marketing and Communications, Monday-Thursday, 8 am-4 pm.

Interested youth must be 13 years old by May 1, 2023, be able to volunteer at least three hours each week—excluding vacations—and have transportation to and from their volunteer location. Volunteer shirts/uniforms will be provided.

There are a limited number of spaces in the Junior Volunteer Program. Applications will be cut off when 40 are received and interviews will be scheduled in that order. One parent must attend the interview with the applicant. All accepted Juniors must have received at a minimum the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine (booster shots not required), or be in the process of applying for an exemption before the first day of volunteering. They must have received all shots within 30 days of the first volunteer day. Orientation will be held on Thursday, June 1 and Friday, June 2; more details about this will be provided to those accepted into the program.

The Junior Volunteer Program offers youth the invaluable opportunity to learn about multiple career paths and experience what it is like to work in a professional environment. Junior volunteers perform duties such as greeting patients and families, assisting nursing and support staff, working with children and The Legacy residents, and other healthcare related services. They also help in the CCMH Gift Shoppe or The Legacy Country Store and at the Information Desk, as well as sell popcorn to raise money for the Volunteer Services Scholarship Program, which provides two $1,500 scholarships each year to high school students.

The Junior Volunteer Program begins Wednesday, June 7 and runs through Wednesday, August 4. For more information, call Volunteer Services at (307) 688-1536. Learn more at https://www.cchwyo.org/about-us/ways-to-give/volunteers/
