Campbell County Health (CCH) is excited to announce a significant step forward in enhancing patient care, communication, and operational efficiency through the implementation of Epic, a leading Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The official go-live date for the new system is Saturday, July 19, 2025. Epic is one of the most widely used and trusted EHR systems in the nation, serving over 300 million patients and supporting many of the largest healthcare systems in the United States. Patients will benefit from quicker access to their medical history, lab results, and appointment information, all with secure 24/7 access. With Epic MyChart, patients can request prescription refills, send messages to their providers, view test results, and manage appointments, all from the comfort of their phone or computer. By automating tasks like documentation and scheduling, Epic reduces administrative burden, allowing clinicians and support staff to focus more on delivering personalized, high-quality patient care. With integrated care records, providers can make better-informed decisions at every point of care. Epic’s built-in alerts and safety checks help reduce medical errors and support consistent, evidence-based treatment. Epic includes industry-leading security protocols such as multi-factor authentication and regular system updates to keep sensitive patient data protected. It also supports compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, helping to ensure patient privacy and organizational integrity. Epic’s systems are designed to optimize billing accuracy, reduce costly errors, and improve overall efficiency, ultimately allowing CCH to better serve our community while managing costs responsibly. “Transitioning to Epic represents our commitment to advancing care delivery and meeting the evolving needs of our patients and providers,” said Chris Beltz, Executive Director of Urgent and Emergent Services and Epic Champion. “We are proud of the hard work our teams have done and will continue to do as we prepare for this important launch.” For the past 18 months, CCH staff have been diligently preparing for this transition through extensive training and workflow development. This preparation will continue through the next four weeks to ensure a smooth and successful implementation across all departments. Campbell County Health appreciates your patience and support during this transition. As we approach the Epic launch on July 19, sign-up information and helpful tips for navigating MyChart will be provided to the community. |
