Prenatal and Birthing Classes

Your health and safety are very important to us. Therefore, we are offering birthing, prenatal and breastfeeding classes in-person and virtually. Please select the class delivery method you prefer when registering.

Campbell County Memorial Hospital Maternal Child Prenatal and Breastfeeding classes in Gillette, WyomingThe birth of a child is one of the most memorable events a family can experience. Campbell County Health offers different prenatal and breastfeeding classes to help prepare for the new arrival. All Classes are FREE and take place at Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming.

Prenatal Class

First and third Thursday of every month
7-9 pm
Free, two-session class for first-time moms in their seventh or eighth month of pregnancy and their support person. Topics include anatomy, normal labor and delivery, breathing and relaxation, pain management and anesthesia during labor, Cesarean birth and a tour of the OB/Nursery/Labor and Delivery areas of CCMH.

Breastfeeding Class

Fourth Wednesday of every month
7-9 pm
This free class is for expecting parents in their sixth to ninth month of pregnancy. Topics covered include the benefits of breastfeeding, preparation, initial breastfeeding basics and support. The class is taught by Certified Lactation Consultants.

Virtual Class Instructions

Those who select the virtual option will be provided a link prior to the first class. While a camera is not required, it is helpful for the participants and the instructor.

In-Person Class Instructions

Participants who attend in-person need to enter through the CCMH Emergency Department entrance and plan for enough time to be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and have temperature taken. Masks are required to be worn by instructors and participants during the entire class time. You may bring your own or we will provide you one for each class. If you or your partner are feeling ill, or have any of the following symptoms, please don’t come to the in-person class. Instead, call 307-688-2200 to get a link to attend that session virtually.

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
